The Loudoun Knights are excited to add a leadership role in the club for the 24/25 season. Derric Trudeau will be joining the hockey club next year as the Director of Player Mentorship and Mental Development, and will also serve as an assistant coach of the 10U AA Team.

Derric was born and raised in Rockland, MA. Derric grew up on the ice, as both his mom and dad were hockey and power skating coaches. Derric had a successful junior hockey career playing in the USPHL, and the NA3HL. After his playing career concluded,  Derric began his coaching career instructing skills for the Boston Jr. Terriers, South Shore Eagles and the Bay State Hockey League.  He coached at the Jr. hockey level with the Twin City Thunders and scouted for the U18 Main Moose.

"Derric's impact developing and mentoring players in the DMV over the last couple years is literally immeasurable" says Knights Hockey Director Craig Desjarlais. "Derric's main focus is the emotional well being and proper mindset of the player first, and the physical training of the hockey player second. The LK coaches will have a great resource in Derric assisting them in developing a positive team culture, while adding an extra support layer for their players".

Improving mental performance and preparation will promote on-ice success and create a better all around experience for LK players. Derric will be accessible to our players throughout the season to help them build confidence, perform well under pressure in both practices and games, and overcome adversity both on and off the ice.
