The Loudoun Knights are excited to announce Evan McCarthy will return to the club as the head coach for the 12U AA team for the 2023/24 Season. The Knights will have three teams at the 12U level next season. The 12U AA team will compete in both the CBHL (National Conference) and the EJEPL (Diamond Division).

Coach McCarthy was born in Vermont, but grew up in Central New York. He played ten years of youth hockey for the Cazenovia Youth Hockey Association, a career which included a trip to the state semi-finals. He began playing varsity hockey for Cazenovia Central High School in 8th grade, captaining the team his senior year. Evan was a nine-time letterman for Cazenovia in hockey, football, and baseball. After high school, Evan earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Boston College, followed by a master's degree from Syracuse University. He works as a Technical Director for a hardware/software developer.

"Evan is one of the most loyal, dedicated and hardest working coaches in the Knights organization", says Loudoun Knights Hockey Director Craig Desjarlais. "Evan is very detail oriented as evident by his weekly video sessions and team reviews. Evan guided his 12U UA Team to an EJEPL Playoff Berth last season, and will challenge this year's group of players to push themselves to be competitive and successful at the AA Level".

Coach McCarthy, a Level 4 Certified USA Hockey Coach, lives in Leesburg with his wife Kendall and his two hockey-playing sons, David and Ben. Both boys enjoy playing and watching hockey--David is a Sabres fan like his dad, while Ben roots for the Capitals.

Please welcome Evan McCarthy as the Head Coach for the 12U AA Team for the 23/24 season!
