Please join the Loudoun Knights in welcoming Chad Haferbier as the 8U A head coach for the 23/24 Fall season. Coach Haferbier is a USA Hockey Level Five certified coach and is passionate about building the best teammates, future citizens, students, and passionate hockey players by focusing on strategic development.

"Once again the Loudoun Knights have lucked out by adding Chad as a head coach with such an extensive hockey background", said Knights Hockey Director Craig Desjarlais. "Chad is the perfect coach to teach our young players the proper skill fundamentals and game concepts".

Coach Haferbier was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and has been involved with the game of hockey as a player and coach since 1980 when the Miracle on Ice inspired a love for the game. After competing in Midget National Championships with the Omaha Junior Lancers in Ogden, Utah and a short stint in Junior A, Coach continued to play at a high level while he worked on his undergraduate degree at University of Nebraska at Omaha where he minored in child psychology. While in
graduate school, Coach Haferbier started coaching the Omaha Gladiators High School Hockey JV & Varsity programs. Coach Haferbier started his local coaching career with the Northern Virginia Ice Dogs in 2008 and since then has coached every level from private power skating and learn to play to U14 AA.

The Haferbier family joined the Loudon Knights community when they moved to Leesburg from Alexandria in summer of 2022. Homer (1), Howe (7), Henry (10), Stephanie and Chad are all very excited to join the Knights family and help build a love for "the best game ever invented."
