The Loudoun Knights are pleased to welcome back Danny Keyes as the Director of Goaltending Development for the 22/23 season. Coach Danny has been with the Loudoun Knights for the entire duration of the club’s existence and has built an exceptional culture within the Knights goalie community.

“Danny, along with some great young goalie instructors fresh off their playing careers,  will offer our goalies the regular training they deserve to maximize development and specialty training”, says Loudoun Knights Hockey Director Craig Desjarlais. “Combining both his decades of experience working with youth goalies and his energetic personality, Danny has thrived building our goalie program from the ground up and will look to take a bigger step forward this season in what we can offer to our goalie families. Danny is building a group of very talented young goalie coaches eager to transition from playing to coaching and will offer a rotation utilizing them all throughout the season to maximize ice touches for each goalie during our regular practice tempo”.

Danny earned his Level 5 USA Hockey Coaching Certification in Lake Placid NY during the summer of 2019. Danny earned his Level 5 with his thesis on youth hockey development for goalies after spending a week learning from the most respected goalie coaches in the country. Danny understands the game is constantly evolving, and so is the goalie position so he continues to educate himself with other goalie instructors regionally and nationally to stay current with goalie training both on and off the ice.

Danny is the founder of both Tactical Goalie and Hockey Night in Nova (HNIN). Danny has been passionate about hockey his entire life and continues to offer new ideas to growing the game here in Northern VA. Danny has always stressed the importance of kids getting the most out of their youth hockey experience while creating a lifetime of memories and friendships. There isn’t a coach regionally that has done a better job than Danny keeping kids involved in hockey once their competitive playing days have finished by introducing them to coaching and mentorship roles with the younger generation of players.

Please welcome back Coach Danny for the 22/23 Loudoun Knights Season!!
