The Loudoun Knights are excited to announce Frank Schiavone will be the head coach for the 12U AA Team for the 22/23 season.

Schiavone was born and raised in Oceanside, NY.  He played youth hockey for the Long Beach Applecore before starting his Junior career in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Cleveland Barons and Springfield Spirit.  For his final year of Junior, Frank played for the Chilliwack Chiefs in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) where he not only was recruited to play Division I hockey at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO in 2003 but also met his future wife, Erin.  Frank began playing at the Academy in 2004 and in both 2007 and 2008 helped his team win the Atlantic Hockey championship to earn berths in the NCAA tournament.  Frank served as an Assistant Captain his Senior year and was named to the second team Lowe's Senior CLASS, which represents attributes of NCAA Division I senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character, and competition.  Frank graduated and got married in 2008 and has been involved with coaching youth hockey since that time.

“It’s not too often someone with Frank’s hockey pedigree walks through your doors and wants to get involved with the program”, says Knights Hockey Director Craig Desjarlais. “Frank assisted with both our 10U and 12U teams this season and was a huge asset to the development of both our players and coaches. Fortunately for the Knights, Frank is eager to take on a head coaching role for our 12U AA Team. Throughout the season Frank and I have had dozens of conversations about youth hockey, and his philosophy for player development, accountability, and respect for this great sport are spot on”. Frank and his family live in Northern Virginia where both kids, Frankie (12) and Gianna (10), play for the Loudoun Knights organization.

“As a coach, I look forward to sharing both hockey and life experiences with our team.  Building a culture of trust, inclusivity, and commitment is incredibly important and I enjoy the unique process each year presents. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue coaching and giving back to the hockey community that has given me so much”, says Frank Schiavone.

Please welcome Frank Schiavone as the 22/23 12U AA Loudoun Knights Head Coach!
