The Loudoun Knights are excited to announce Jason Klauka will be returning to the Loudoun Knights as an 8U Head Coach for the 22/23 season. Jason was born and raised in Frederick, MD and started playing hockey at the age of 4. Throughout his life, hockey has been Jason’s true passion as he continues to play today at the age of 33 and is heavily involved in coaching at the youth level.

“After a season as the Knights 10U AA Head Coach, Jason is shifting his focus back to the 8U level and brings with him a lifetime of passion in the game of hockey”, says Loudoun Knights Hockey Director Craig Desjarlais. “In Jason’s own words, 8U is the best age to coach because you can have such an amazing impact on their development. Jason is another coach in our club that travels a great distance to Ion because he believes in this program and wants to make an impact with our grassroots players”.

Jason had a highly successful youth hockey career playing for the Washington Little Capitals at the PeeWee (12U) and Bantam (14U) level. Jason also starred as a varsity high school player at Linganore High School, most notably being named to the All-Metropolitan Team his senior year.

Jason’s youth hockey success paved the way for him to play NCAA D3 Varsity hockey at Concordia University in Wisconsin. After a successful freshman season Jason suffered an injury that would unfortunately end his collegiate career. He had reconstructive surgery on his wrist and returned home to Maryland to earn a degree in economics from UMBC in Baltimore.

Jason has over 6 years coaching experience and will be getting his Level 4 USA Hockey Certification this summer. Jason’s coaching style is driven by team and individual development focusing on skating, skill enhancement and a high compete level. Practices will be well structured and high energy.

Jason is enjoying a successful professional career as the Mid Atlantic Sales Manager for Metrie working out of Columbia MD. Jason has been married for 8 years and he and his wife have 3 kids (2 boys and 1 girl).
