The Loudoun Knights are excited to announce Jessica Huff will be returning as an 8U Head Coach for the 22/23 season. The Knights 8U program is expected to continue its growth this upcoming season and Jess will anchor the impressive coaching staff.

Jess is a Northern Virginia native, born and raised in Loudoun County. A product of Reston Raiders and Ashburn Inline hockey programs, she’s loved seeing hockey grow and thrive in the area over the years. Jess was captain of the University of Virginia Women’s Hockey team that won back-to-back DVCHC Women’s Division I championships her third and fourth year and also played club lacrosse at UVA. She coached youth hockey for five years and was a founding coach during Ion’s inaugural season.

“There isn’t a hockey coach in this building that has had a bigger impact on the grassroots level of hockey here at Ion than Coach Jess”, says Loudoun Knights Hockey Director Craig Desjarlais. “The 8U level is the foundation of our club and Jess has done an amazing job developing these young players, but more importantly supporting their growth and keeping the game fun. Aside from her incredible ability to teach the game at this level, she is a true mentor for these young boys and girls and exemplifies everything the Knights stand for”.

In 21/22, Jess coached the 8U Gold team to a stellar season, winning a tournament championship in Niagara Falls, two second place AA tournament finishes in Erie and Tampa, and a strong winning record in the local area. Passionate about fundamentals, player development, and inclusion, Jess looks forward to the continued growth of the Knights program.

Jess is currently a USA Hockey Level 2 Coach. She is married and has two young hockey players in the Knights organization.
